Short answer

A hunt code identifies a specific LEH opportunity. It is more precise than saying “Region 3 moose” or “B.C. elk” because the code ties the application to a defined opportunity with its own area, season and conditions.

Why does the code matter for odds?

Historical draw results are attached to specific opportunities. Comparing the wrong code can mean comparing a different season, area or class of animal.
